How is CVD calculated?
For each candle, volume where buyers took the ask (aggressive buys) minus volume where sellers hit the bid (aggressive sells), summed from the first candle on screen.
Why Binance data?
Binance's official candles include aggressive (taker) buy volume, so CVD can be calculated exactly — including history — on the same basis for everyone. Bybit candles do not include this value.
Does rising CVD mean whales are accumulating?
No. CVD is only the difference between aggressive buy and sell volume; it does not show accumulation by any party or real net inflows. Use divergence from price as a reference only.
Why does the start time matter?
CVD is cumulative, so its level depends on where it starts. This page starts at 0 on the first candle of the selected window and shows that start time.
